What Credentialing and Enrollment Determine

Credentialing decides whether a provider can bill a payer at all. Until enrollment is active, claims submitted under that provider deny regardless of how clean they are, and the process typically runs months rather than weeks across Medicare, Medicaid and commercial plans.

  • Medicare PECOS enrollment prepared and tracked to approval
  • Florida Medicaid AHCA plus individual managed care plan enrollment
  • Commercial applications followed through to an effective date
  • Revalidation and CAQH re-attestation tracked so nothing lapses

Credentialing That Keeps Your Billing Active

Provider credentialing is the process of verifying qualifications and enrolling providers with payers. Without completed credentialing, payers cannot accept claims, and providers cannot receive reimbursement. A single lapsed enrollment can create billing gaps that take months to resolve.

Medsure RCS manages the complete credentialing process for physician practices, group organizations, and hospital systems across Florida. From initial CAQH setup through Medicare PECOS enrollment and commercial payer applications, we handle every step with dedicated tracking and follow-up. Active credentialing is a prerequisite for medical billing and revenue cycle management, a lapsed enrollment halts reimbursement entirely. CMS and Florida AHCA govern the enrollment standards our team follows.

What Our Credentialing Service Covers

Each component of our credentialing process is designed to prevent delays, avoid lapses, and keep providers billable with every payer they need.

Application Preparation

Complete credentialing applications with all required attachments, professional references, and supporting documentation. Incomplete initial applications are a primary driver of enrollment delays.

Enrollment Tracking

Application status monitored across all active payer submissions. Follow-up and escalation management to move applications through each payer process without missing response deadlines.

CAQH Management

Initial CAQH ProView profile setup and ongoing quarterly attestation. An outdated CAQH profile is one of the most common and preventable causes of credentialing delays with commercial payers.

Medicare and Medicaid Enrollment

CMS 855 form preparation, PECOS enrollment, and Florida AHCA portal credentialing. We manage both fee-for-service and managed care plan enrollment for Florida providers.

Provider Onboarding

Structured credentialing support for new providers joining an existing group, including individual and group payer enrollment, benefit reassignment, and roster updates.

Re-Credentialing

Proactive tracking of credentialing expiration dates with renewal applications submitted ahead of deadlines. Expired credentials result in claim rejections and potential payment recoupment.

Provider Credentialing Across Florida

Florida's Medicaid program operates through managed care organizations rather than fee-for-service, which means credentialing requires separate enrollment with each managed care plan. Sunshine Health, Staywell, WellCare, Molina, and Simply Healthcare each maintain their own credentialing portals, timelines, and requirements.

We manage Florida Medicaid managed care credentialing in addition to Medicare and commercial payer enrollment. For practices accepting multiple Medicaid MCO plans, we coordinate applications across all plans to minimize gaps in coverage and billing authorization. Completed credentialing feeds directly into our medical billing and denial management workflows, ensuring providers remain billable without interruption.

"I oversee billing for a large multispecialty group and coordinating everything used to feel completely overwhelming. Having one service that understands the nuances across all our specialties has simplified everything significantly."

"Best billing service we have worked with. Clean claims, fast payments, great communication. Everything you want."

"Service is good overall but the onboarding took longer than we expected. Took about six weeks before things were really running smoothly for our gastroenterology practice. Once it clicked though the colonoscopy and endoscopy claims started going out clean and we stopped seeing the NCCI bundling rejections that had been killing us. Would still recommend but just be patient in the beginning."

Provider Credentialing: Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the credentialing process and what to expect from our credentialing services.

Provider credentialing is the process of verifying a healthcare provider's qualifications and enrolling them with insurance payers. Without completed credentialing, payers cannot accept claims from that provider, and reimbursement cannot occur.

Timelines vary by payer. Medicare enrollment through PECOS typically takes 30 to 90 days. Commercial credentialing ranges from 60 to 180 days depending on the payer and the completeness of the application. We proactively follow up to minimize delays.

CAQH ProView is a centralized credentialing database used by most commercial payers to verify provider information. An incomplete or outdated CAQH profile is one of the most common causes of credentialing delays. We set up and maintain CAQH profiles to keep attestation current.

If a credentialing contract expires without renewal, payers may reject claims for services rendered during the lapse period or recoup previously paid claims. We track expiration dates and submit renewals ahead of deadlines to prevent lapses.

Yes. We manage credentialing for new providers joining an existing group practice, including individual provider enrollment, group roster updates, reassignment of benefits, and enrollment with all relevant payers.
